Appraisal Services

Ever  wonder what something is worth?  Antiques? Collectibles?  Personal  Property?  Knowing the value can assist in determining the amount of  insurance coverage needed, how much you can claim as a charitable  donation or just satisfy that need to know.

Following is a list of what an appraisal report should include:

  • Cover document
  • Complete and accurate description of the item
  • Statement regarding the appraiser's financial position on appraised item
  • Appraiser's qualifications
  • Date of inspection
  • An effective date of value

Types of appraisals available:

  • Estate/Probate
  • Insurance
  • Charitable Donation
  • Divorce

Know who is appraising your valuables.  A qualified appraiser should have formal education in appraisal theory, procedures and principles, ethics and law and continuing education.  Just because someone has been a  collector or in the business for many years does not necessarily make them a qualified appraiser.
